It's been 4 years now since Birmingham City Council declared a climate emergency. Since then, they have done absolutely nothing to tackle the climate crisis and get Birmingham to become carbon neutral by 2030 in line with their targets.

Instead, they are renewing the Tyseley Incinerator, the city's largest carbon emitter, until 2034-4 years after Birmingham is meant to be carbon neutral.

Since the collapse of the R20 meetings, the Council has stopped listening to young people and youth activists. It's time they actually started listening to the people who will have to live with the consequences of the climate crisis.
